Bradley Stoke Town F.C. - Match report

Home vs. Fishponds Athletic A - Sat 29th October 2005

The good form being shown throughout this current period of the season continued with the demolition of a weak Fishponds Athletic side.

An immediate Fishponds attack from the off with a wayward shot was not any indication of how the half would pan out, because almost directly after it Bradley Stoke were on the attack and found the net through striker Jerry Harper inside 2 minutes (Mark Palmer getting the assist with a break down the left).  This was going to prove to be a busy game for him up front.  Within 5 minutes Bradley Stoke were up by two goals as Chris Tysoe managed to get onto the score sheet for the first time with a glancing near post header courtesy of an Adam Morris corner.
Another goal for Harper ensued after James Palmer managed to squeeze the ball square to him inside the box amongst a crowd of defenders.  The two players then teamed up again well to enable Harper to complete his first half hat-trick, a through ball set the now top goal scorer clean through on goal to finish convincingly.
Fishponds clawed back a goal at the end of the half via their skilful and quick young striker, but already it was never going to be any more than a consolation.

The second half saw a relaxed Bradley Stoke wind down and enjoy the remainder of the game, with Harper adding two more to his tally.  One a close range shot that almost took the Fishponds keeper into the net with the ball, following a cross come shot from Craig Potter.  The other was one to remember as Jerry managed to chip both the defender in front of him and the goal keeper to score a great goal.  All at Bradley Stoke hope his rich vein of form continues for as long as possible.

Final score: 6-1.

Other note able performances came from Mark Harwood at fullback and Ben Osbourne at Centre Half...yet more consistently good displays from the two defenders.

The team's focus can now switch to their tricky cup tie against Wanderers next week...
